Punjab University declares BA/BSc results; Girls notch top positions
LAHORE: Punjab University (PU), on Friday, declared BA/BSc Annual Examination 2011 results and organised a ceremony in the honour of position holders at the Faisal Auditorium.

PU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran was the chief guest of the event while Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Akhtar, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Additional Controller Ahmad Ali Chattha, Treasurer Dr Uzma Ikram, senior faculty members, position holders, their parents and principals of respective colleges were also present on the occasion.

According to the result statistics, as many as 41,314 regular candidates appeared in the examinations out of which 22,059 candidates passed with the pass percentage of 53.39, and in the category of late college candidates, 13,643 candidates took examination and 4,366 passed showing a pass percentage of 32.00 while 25,506 external candidates out of a total of 97,786 passed the examination achieving pass percentage of 26.08.

Similarly, 11,796 candidates secured 1st division, 36,317 candidates got 2nd division and 2,636 candidates secured 3rd division.

BA result: Iqra Abbas, an external candidate from Shahdara, Lahore, secured the first position with 668 marks. Muhammad Zahid Zaheer Iqbal, an external candidate from Bahawalpur bagged the second position with 665 marks while Muhammad Hamza, external candidate from Shadbagh, Lahore, stood third with 664.

BSC result: Rida Arshad from Government College for Women, Toba Tek Singh, bagged the first position with 682 marks while Arfa Waseem from Superior Science College, Satellite Town Gujranwala, stood second with 677 marks. Sadia Parveen from Al-Beruni Government College, Pind Dadan Khan, secured the third position by scoring 668 marks.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Kamran urged the Muslims to understand the value and power of education, saying that only educated nations could become powerful and stand up for their rights in front of the whole world. He said that those involved in sectarianism and in killing each other had no link with Islam.

 Punjab University B.A And B.S.c  Exam Result 2011

 The University of The Punjab Lahore has declare the B.A and B.S.C Annual Examination 2011 Result on August 12. A prize distribution ceremony will be held in the Faisal Auditorium New Campus. As many as 153688 candidates have appeared in the exam.
